Achieving this certification is a significant milestone for us. As a company, we’ve always been committed to using business as a force for good. Our team is passionate about solving human resource headaches and proving that HR can be compliant and people-first. This vision and mission have always been at the heart of everything we do… and being certified as a B Corporation is proof that we’re going in the right direction.
B Corp Certification is an accreditation that a business is maintaining elevated standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency. B Corp looks at factors ranging from employee benefits and charitable contributions to supply chain operations and input materials.
Getting certified with B Corp isn’t just about meeting a set of standards; it’s a demonstration of a company’s unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on society and the environment. It’s a testament to a business’ holistic approach to being a force for good.
The journey to being certified certainly wasn’t an easy one. Certification is a rigorous process that closely inspected Now Actually’s business model, our operations, and our impact on our team members, community, environment, and clients. We were asked detailed questions on different areas of the business like employee benefits, how we handle client data, internal governance, and more.
It was a process that spanned several months. We worked with a B Lab analyst who verified the information we provided. After verification, we scored 88.2 in B Corp’s Impact Assessment, and were granted certification. There are over 6,000 certified B Corporations in more than 80 countries and over 150 industries today, and we’re proud to be joining their ranks.
Embarking on the journey of certification wasn’t a decision that was taken lightly. Ultimately, the deciding factor was our commitment to challenging ourselves and proving to each other (and the world) that we’re true to our values, vision, and mission as a company.
We recognise the power of B Corp Certification in differentiating us in the marketplace. We know that we’re an outsourced HR company that does things differently—but having an impartial authority like B Corp declaring us so validates this. As the first outsourced HR consultancy to be certified as a B Corp in Victoria, and only one of a handful in Australia, we know that we made the right decision.
